It ask for my password. It then goes to Approve this iphone, go to one of your other devices signed in to icloud to appove this iphone. It just waits for approval. I can sign in via a browser just fine and get the 6 digit code that I have to type into the browser. However, I can’t get the waiting for approval on the phone to go away. I don’t have an ipad, ipod, imac or any other device signed in.

Jun 27, PM. This didn’t help me. I am still getting the message, “Go to one of your other devices signed into iCloud to approve this iPhone”, however there is no option to approve the iphone on any other device.

I had same issue today. It is to do with keychain even though we never had it on. On the waiting for authorisation screen we just pressed can’t verify and just reset data.

After “upgrade” to IOS 11 last night, and after already having two factor authentication enabled and working fine on both my iPhone 6S Plus and PC prior to this update, I am perpetually stuck at the “Approve this iPhone” screen.
I can see my device on my PC, in my Apple ID account, but there is never an option to approve this device, so I can move on with life. I’ve tried all of this both on WiFi and cellular data only. The only thing I can do is disable two factor authentication and set up the security questions.

The message is “Approve this iPhone” not the verification steps. It is related to the keychain. Since I could not approve my phone from my computer, I attempted to reset the key chain it deletes all key chaing passwords stored–thankfully I use a different app for storing passwords–pooh on you Apple. This key chain reset failed, so I went back to the previous Apple ID and pwd screen and said, skip this step.
However, my iPhone “is now” available. Apple: why do you make it so hard to do things and hard to find answers to simple questions, like Approve this iPhone?

I had the same problem. I didn’t have Keychain enabled on the phone. When I turned it on, I got a popup on my iPad which is not yet authenticated this way asking me to enter my AppleID password.
